SST Group has extensive experience in the development and launch of mass production of components for electric heating systems designed to the customer’s specifications. The company has engineered, designed, and manufactured a digital thermostat ConTrace ETD-Ex. 

The new ConTrace ETD-Ex explosion-proof thermostat is intended for operation as part of electric heating solutions. It operates with a high accuracy of   maintenance temperature in explosive environments on oil and gas and petrochemical industry sites. The ConTrace ETD-Ex thermostat can be placed either in the immediate vicinity of the heated equipment or at a distance. Its display and indicators are protected by transparent glass, and the buttons have an explosion-proof design, which allows the thermostat to be set up directly in the hazardous area. The thermostat provides additional protection by preventing unauthorized access and accidental button clicks.

Readings from the ConTrace ETD-Ex thermostat can be monitored remotely. The temperature data is transmitted using the Modbus RTU protocol via a RS-485 network to an industrial-grade computer or programmable logic controller with installed ConTrace software. This allows the operator to easily monitor in real time and analyze the operation of the heating cable.

The electronic thermostat ConTrace ETD-Ex is part of a new product line of explosion-proof equipment by SST Group, launched in December 2020. It includes junction boxes, control cabinets, connectors, and control stations. Thanks to a wide range of external dimensions and the possibility of independently designated junction box inputs, the customer can specify the equipment that perfectly matches the project’s needs. The quality and reliability of the explosion-proof equipment by SST Group is evidenced by  international certificates.
